One of the alternative energy is the use of solar enerby. Although solar panel’s cost is very high we should think of its benefit. We cannot live without the use of energy. The technological progress has affected the demand for energy in a big way. To run various machineries the use of electricity is very essential. The industrial revolution has been consuming the electricity in a large amount. This has created energy crisis in almost all nations across the world. This is a biggest concern also. The solution for this problem lies in our strategy to increase the supply of electricity. It has made us think of changing from non renewable to renewable sources of energy. Now we are concentrating mostly on solar energy that is available plenty.

Although people speak of using alternative energy, solar panel’s cost is very high as compared with the traditional method of using coal in generating electricity. To make it less costly , the Government is providing rebates and tax benefits to start using the solar panels. It is estimated that one kilowatt of solar enery system costs more than $20,000. And further, avertage system cost is around $95 per sqaure foot with output of 10.6 watts. But, still the use of solar panels tend to increase nowadays. The reason might be its long life span and free of cost sunlight. Once the solar panel is installed it does not need any inputs like fuel and does not require any labour. One difficulty in using the solar panel is that, when any repair happens, it is very difficult to locate its technician. And their charge is very high as only a few technicians are available currently.

As this is the case, we ought to expand the use the solar power irrespective of the solar panel’s cost. We have to save life on this earth. One might wonder how this is related with our existence. We know that Earth’s Ozone layer has been damaged over time. The reason is the emmission of Cloro Fluro Carbon and other Green House Gases (GHG) to the atmosphere. It is our moral responsibility to preserve the natural resources and protect the eco system. When we follow the traditional method of generating electricity, more and more Green house gases are emitted to the atmosphere.

United Nations Organisation has urged its member countries to reduce the emmission of such GHG. As a result the member countries are encouraging the use of solar panels. To reduce the solar panel’s cost the Government is supposed to give more subsidies and tax free tools to the people.Most of the newly constructed buildings are using solar panels. Although the solar panel Costs very much in present times, we can expect its use to go up in the coming years. When more number of solar panels available in the market, like any other commodities, its price will definitely come down. Then ,it is no doubt that we will be able to make a Green Earth.
